Loan Watch: McAllister Strikes For Ferguson's Inverness

Young Blues Sean McAllister and Kenzie Weir both featured in Scotland for their temporary clubs, as the 2023/24 season approaches its conclusion. Here is an overview of how our players performed in this week’s Loan Watch...

Sean McAllister – Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Opponent: Greenock Morton (H)
Competition: Scottish Championship
Date: Friday 3 May
Result: 3-1 win
Overview: McAllister struck Inverness’ third goal in their 3-1 home victory on Friday evening.

Already 2-1 up and after just passing the hour mark, the 21-year-old midfielder stepped up to produce a first-time left-footed finish from a yard inside the penalty area, giving his team a two-goal advantage.

In just his third game since recovering from a six-week injury layoff, the returning McAllister is hitting form at the right time for Duncan Ferguson’s side. Up next, hoping to avoid relegation, they face Montrose of the third tier across two legs in a play-off semi-final. The first tie is tonight, Tuesday 7 May (kick-off at 7.45pm BST).

Kenzie Weir – Glasgow City

Glasgow doubled their lead shortly after the interval, before conceding twice – in the 80th and 93rd minutes to see the home side denied all three points, drawing 2-2.

Six points off the top of the table, Weir's loan side face second-placed Rangers on Sunday 12 May (kick-off at 4.10pm BST) in their next outing.
