Bissell: Results Will Come With Dominant Displays

Emma Bissell is confident Everton will get their just reward if they continue to produce performances seen in the opening games of the season.

The Blues have been narrowly beaten against Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City but not through a lack of effort.

Brian Sorensen’s side were edged 1-0 by the Foxes on Sunday where they had two goals disallowed and a spot-kick saved.

Not to be downhearted, Bissell believes wins will come if the squad continue to produce high-performing displays.

“It was great to make my full debut [against Leicester],” the summer arrival told evertontv. “There are tons of positives to take from how we played, how we dominated large parts of the game.

“Obviously, it’s frustrating for the group as a whole because we felt like we could have come away with three points [on Sunday].

“There are loads to build on as we move onto Manchester City midweek.”

It’s a busy week for the squad who begin their League Cup campaign on Wednesday night followed by a trip to Anfield for the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

The 21-year-old hopes the Blues can begin to turn the tide in their favour, starting against her former side City at Walton Hall Park.

“You look at the schedule and it’s packed. City midweek, Liverpool at Anfield at the weekend,” Bissell continued.

“As a group, it’s important now that we stick together.

“We’re playing very good football, fundamentals in large parts of the game.

“That’s got to be a positive for us because if we stick to what we’re doing then results will follow.

“Every game is important, but when you play your rivals the emotion is heightened.

“As a group, we’re ready to show what we’re capable of.

“That will feed into our hunger to perform well this week against City and then Liverpool on Sunday.”
