Loan Watch: POTM Display Among Enthralling Weekend

It was another busy weekend across the football league with many of our Everton loanees back in action for their temporary clubs   

Here is an overview of how some of our promising young players performed in this week’s Loan Watch.

Stanley Mills - Oxford United    

Opponent: Carlisle (H)    
Competition: League One    
Date: Saturday 12 August    
Result: 1-0 win  
Overview: It hadn’t been the best of starts for Mills and Oxford United who suffered defeat on the opening day before being beaten 5-1 by Bristol City in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday – Mills featured in both matches. They got back to winning ways this weekend, though, seeing off Carlisle with a 1-0 with the Everton attacker joining the action in the 67th minute.   


Lewis Warrington - Plymouth Argyle

Opponent: Watford (A)   
Competition: Championship   
Date: Saturday 12 August   
Result: 0-0 draw  
Overview: Warrington was an unused substitute as the Pilgrims secured a solid point on the road at Watford. He did, however, play a full 90 for Steven Schumacher’s side four days earlier as they sealed a 2-0 win over Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup.   

Reece Welch - Forest Green  

Opponent: Harrogate (A)    
Competition: League Two  
Date: Saturday 12 August    
Result: 1-0 win   
Overview: After completing his switch to Forest Green late last week, Welch came off the bench in the 80th minute to make his debut in the Green Devils’ 1-0 win at Harrogate.  

Harry Tyrer - Chesterfield   

Opponent: AFC Fylde (A)    
Competition: National League   
Date: Saturday 12 August    
Result: 4-2 victory    
Overview: Chesterfield were involved in another thriller as they made it two wins from two with their 4-2 success at Fylde. Tyrer started in goal and played a full 90 minutes.  


Zan-Luk Leban - Farsley Celtic 

Opponent: Chorley (H)    
Competition: National League North   
Date: Saturday 12 August    
Result: 1-1 draw    
Overview: Despite finishing the game with 10 men, Farsley battled to a 1-1 draw against Chorley with Leban playing a key role. The Everton youngster made a number of great saves and was named the Player of the Match.
