Legend Stevens To Rejoin Blues Down Under

Double-title winning right-back Gary Stevens is part of the Everton contingent that will be in Sydney, Australia next week.

Stevens, who is based on the west coast of Australia is jetting across the country with his family to join up with players and staff from the Club.

He will be alongside his 1987 Championship-winning teammate Ian Snodin at several events during the visit.

On Friday 18 November, the duo will meet fans at a specially arranged morning brunch and will also be present in the evening at a broader supporters event, where hopefully there will also be first-team representation.

On Saturday, Gary and Snods will be joining the Blues on a cruise along the Parramatta River and then on the first match day, Sunday against Celtic, they will mingle with Evertonians at a pre-match get-together in the city’s Argyle bar.

Gary, who was an integral part of England’s 1986 World Cup campaign that was ended by the infamous Diego Maradona 'Hand of God' goal, will be in Cheers Bar on Monday evening to enjoy the company of any Blues who will be watching Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions kick off their 2022 campaign against Iran in Qatar.

“I’m looking forward immensely to joining the Blues in Sydney,” said Gary. “I have always had a terrific relationship with them and they never forget you. There are some great events planned and I am sure everyone will have a great time.”

The Club will also be working to promote Gary's charity, Forever Four, which was created in memory of his son Jack, who tragically passed away aged four in November 2021 after a brave battle against a rare form of leukemia.

Forever Four was founded by Gary and his wife Louise and exists to evolve the stem cell donation process in Australia, as well as to support other bereaved cancer families. Click here for more information.
