WATCH: Cahill On His Enduring Love For Everton

Since confirming in March he was ending a career that saw him play his football for eight different clubs on four different continents over more than 20 years - not to mention star in four World Cups and score in three - Tim Cahill has had time to reflect.

Take it as a serious statement of the Australian's love for Everton, then, when he says Goodison Park was "the best place" to pull out his iconic corner flag punch celebration.

It's just one of many standout moments during an exclusive and enlightening evertontv interview in which Cahill's unwavering fondness for the Club, for Evertonians, and for those he shared a dressing room with during his eight-year stay on Merseyside becomes dazzlingly clear. Not that anyone thought otherwise.

Watch the video below to see Cahill explain why meeting David Moyes and Bill Kenwright in 2004 was "probably the best thing that could have ever happened", outline why the Blues were able to compete so regularly for European places during his time at the Club, admit his admiration and constant desire to impress teammate Duncan Ferguson, and reveal the Everton regret that still haunts him to this day.

So often the scourge of neighbours Liverpool, he also discusses why Merseyside derbies could bring out the best him, sets out his plans for retirement, and hints at his desire to one day find a role that brings him back to the Toffees.
