Mina Starts For Strong Everton In Gor Mahia Clash

Yerry Mina will make his first start for Everton in Tuesday night's game against Gor Mahia, with manager Marco Silva naming a team laced with internationals for the SportPesa Trophy contest.

Colombia international centre-back Mina came off the bench for the closing minutes of Saturday's Premier League success over Brighton & Hove Albion and now has the chance to press his claims for a start at Chelsea on Sunday.

Mina partners captain Phil Jagielka in the middle of Everton's back-four, while Mason Holgate and Leighton Baines are set to occupy the Blues' full-back spots.

Turkey striker Cenk Tosun will lead the hosts' attacking line in what will be the first instance of an East African club taking on a Premier League outfit on English soil.

Ademola Lookman, Kieran Dowell and Dominic Calvert-Lewin - an English World Cup winning trio - feature as the attacking three directly behind Tosun.

Another young Englishman, Tom Davies, is deployed alongside France international Morgan Schneiderlin at the base of Everton's midfield. Maarten Stekelenburg starts in goal for the hosts.

There are places on the bench for midfield duo James McCarthy and Beni Baningime, along with striker Oumar Niasse.

Under-23 quartet Anthony Gordon, Nathan Broadhead, Kyle John and goalkeeper Joao Virginia are also included among Everton's substitutes.
